We have always dreamed of having a small farm, and that dream began to take shape when we purchased my husband's childhood home with its old, worn-down barn nestled in the rolling hills of Huntington Township in Chillicothe, Ohio. This barn, once vibrant and filled with the sounds of daily farm life, holds the history of its past and the potential for our future.

As we embarked on this journey, we envisioned transforming the barn into a welcoming home for a variety of animals, each contributing to our farming aspirations. After giving this barn new life, we were set back by a barn fire, claiming the lives of our 4H hogs and leaving destruction in its wake. We again set out to salvage what we could of this old barn. With every small step we take, whether it's restoring the structure or carefully choosing which animals to welcome into our lives, we are making this dream a reality—one animal at a time. The process is not just about farming; it's about reconnecting with the land, nurturing life, and embracing the joy of creating something meaningful in this idyllic setting.
